Who can participate in the Walk?

Anyone is welcome to walk with us! The CROP Walk is open to all groups and individuals who wish to walk with their neighbors to stand against hunger and poverty.

When is the Walk?

The 9th Annual Danville Area CROP Walk will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Rain or shine.

What time is the Walk?

Please arrive by 2:30 to sign in and to turn in donations. The walk will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m.

Where is the Walk?

This year the Walk will start and end at Ballou Park, near the Recreation Center.

How long is the Walk?

Each walker can choose between a 1-mile or a 5-K route along West Main Street and Main Street. The routes will be marked, and for the 5-K there will be restroom and water stops along the way.

Why are we walking?

The purpose of the Walk is to raise awareness about hunger in Danville and around the world. In doing so, we will also raise funds which will benefit Church World Service and God’s Storehouse. Read more… 

How much money do I have to raise for the Walk?

There is no minimum fundraising requirement to participate in the Walk. However, we encourage each participant to set a fundraising goal of $50 to $100.

How can I make a contribution to the Walk if I can’t be there?

You can make a contribution online by credit card, or you can mail a check (checks should be made to Church World Service) to Danville CROP Walk, 107 West Main Street, Danville VA  24541. Make a donation!

Where does the money go?

75% of funds raised go to Church World Service, to fight hunger around the world. 25% of funds raised go to God’s Storehouse, our local food bank, which serves Danville and Pittsylvania County. Learn more…
